Early the morning of March 8, 1999, Joe DiMaggio died at age 84 after a long battle against lung cancer and pneumonia. To side she found her brother, Dominic, two grandchildren, Joe Nacchio (a friend of 59 years) and Morris Engelberg, another old friend and lawyer. In 1935, his last season with the Seals, there was an impressive 398. It was in 1936 that was signed by the Yankees, despite higher offers from Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs. However, these two teams was too late and, therefore, Joe became a Yankee in aa help win the championship in 10 of 13 Sereis years and 8 World Championship.
